Raffle Tickets can be purchased from any Aerie 3973 Member (if they still have some!) or any of the volunteers. You can be positive that the money you are giving goes to the Charities as advertised because our volunteers invested in these tickets first, guaranteeing that the Charities get the money. Our volunteers do all the work; you are the ultimate consumer who gets the chance to win the prize!

"Summer is For Kids!" Event FAQ's
Blood Drive
Have you registered for the FREE DRAWING? Blood is drawn for free! The San Diego Blood Mobile will be at the Aerie on Sat. July 27 from 9am - 1 pm.
Appointments are highly recommended, although Walk-ins will be taken if time is available. Appointments are on a "first come first served" basis and the best time slots will go quickly. Be sure to sign up for your most convenient time ASAP!

You may designate your blood donation to any active account, however, If you are not already donating into a particular account, one of our members is currently in need of your help.
Bake Sale

What successful community Event would be complete without a yummy Bake Sale! Some of the County's best cooks are coming together to tantalize your taste buds with delectable delights!
Rummage Sale
Recycling is very important and this Community Rummage Sale is a GREAT way to participate.
Everybody has good useable items in their homes that they just don't use anymore.
Our Rummage Sale is a wonderful opportunity to clear the excess clutter and find new treasures that are perfect for your family!

I'm a Volunteer, How can I help?
"Summer is For Kids!" is a huge endeavor. The causes are good and the drive is there, but no matter how strong one person is, more people make more cents!
We are looking for people willing to work with the Rummage Sale, people who have items we can borrow (IE: Tables, shade canopies, chairs, misters, etc), people to sort donated items, people to keep the area clean, and people to help with parking and traffic flow; in fact, we are looking for just about ANY talent that you may have! Would you like to help?
What is there for the Kids?
​Children are the future! Parents are encouraged to bring their children shopping with them. Besides the obvious enticement of Firemen and Policemen, there will be a controlled area designed specifically for "Kid Fun"
BIG NEWS!
Santee Home Depot is sponsoring the childrens area. They are donating the goods and also volunteering to build the area! (Be
sure to tell them Thank you when you are shopping there!) There will be some kiddie pools with floating toys for the children to play with, some toys, games, books, intermitant face painting, and we have even invited the San Diego Clown Alley to charm and delight your children!
Where does the Money go?

All funds raised in the Community Raffle will go directly to the Jimmy Durante Children's Fund and the New Diabetes Research Center. For more information about the Charities, please see the

Proceeds from the on-site Rummage Sale will go to the Local Aerie to help offset the costs of this huge event, and to improve the community "Curb-Apeal" of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Santee-El Cajon Aerie 3973.

Is there entertainment?
You mean, besides the Clowns?! YES! And, we've gotcha covered!
Outside: KSON Radio will show their support by bringing their famous Traveling Radio Booth. Meet the DJ's and listen to some good Country y'all! And maybe, just maybe... they will be broadcasting live from our event!
Inside: We have the band "Smooth Unit" all lined up and ready to go. They will regale us, in the cooler shade of the Aerie building, with a plethora of music styles.
Sit down, have some lunch, enjoy a cold one, and let Smooth Unit entertain your ears!
What about Food?
The Bake Sale is great, but I’m looking for something a little less...sweet!
No Problem! Saturday we will have some Favorite outdoor meals. Delectable Pulled Pork OR Sausage Sandwiches, fixed up by Don McGordy, one of the most seasoned chefs I have ever met, served up with side of fantastic potato Salad! For the younger ones we have our special "Hotdogs a-la-carte".
Our food Guru has spoken! Lunch will be served on Sat from about 10am - 2 pm, or for as long as supplies last. (I think I'll get in line early!)
Don't forget to wander over to Mama Lisa's Italian Ice Booth to get a soda to wash down all that yummy scrumptiousness!
(and , Yes, adult beverages are available inside the Aerie building.)

What kinds of activities will there be?
There is something for everyone!
The young ones will have water play; the young-at-heart will have a Dunk Tank, so bring your friends and help them to "be cool"!
The young ones have toys and games, the young at heart can have a game of Pool or Darts!
Lakeside's famous Molly Brown's will be onsite doing your hair in true festive style!
There is the BIG Community Raffle Drawing plus Door Prizes available every day, for everyone over 18. I hear that there are California Lottery Scratchers included in those prizes! Of course, the children will also have a Door Prize Grab Bag!
With the Clowns comes face painting and other funny goodies.
The Silent Auction will be great entertainment, and then there is still the Police Car & Fire Truck to explore!
All that, and you will still want to find time to shop the Rummage sale!

Well, yes, this is East County. It could be very warm, and that's a good thing!
With water play for the younger kids, the dunking booth for the older kids, refreshments everywhere, and even a Band inside the building to entertain you as you relax in the cooler shade with a "Cold One"... we also have Mama Lisa's Itialian Ice to offer some classy taste to your Cool-Down experience.
Word on the street is that an
Ice Cream Truck will also be
making some special stops!
Bring on the heat, we're ready for it!
